MP: Dog saves woman from molester, takes a stab
The accused before fleeing stabbed and injured the dog. On Sunday afternoon, the canine was lying in a corner of a room in which the woman was resting. Around 3 pm, the dog ‘Sheru’ heard some noise and saw the woman allegedlybeing molested by a man. It immediately flung at the man and scared him away; but got stabbed with a knife in the process. While the woman escaped from the molester, there was a gush of blood from the dog’s front limb. Chhola police registered a case against the accused and started investigations. The accused is on the run.
SHO Chhola Radheyshyam Raigar said the complainant and her husband reside in a residential Colony in Chhola area. Accused Sunil, resides in the neighbourhood. He is jobless and has been a nuisance in the locality, she alleged. “A stray dog lives in the street where her house is located and is fed regularly,” said the SHO. Around 3 pm on Sunday, the dog was in the house along with the woman.
Accused Sunil knocked on the door and when the survivor opened the door he forced his way into the room and grabbed her. He was in an inebriated condition and when she resisted Sunil hurled abuses at her.
Meanwhile, the dog pounced on him and scared him away. However, the accused whipped out a knife out and stabbed it before fleeing. SHO Raigar said the woman then reported the matter after which police got the dog’s medical examination done.
