Noida: A 22-year-old woman committed suicide at a paying guest facility in Sector 27 on Sunday night, moments after she tried to connect to a friend via a WhatsApp video call.The woman was apparently upset after the youth whom she was trying to contact stopped taking her calls.According to police, she was pursuing LLB from Delhi University via correspondence and was staying with another girl in the PG. Her roommate was in Gwalior when she hung herself.Her friends in the PG later told police that the woman had a series of conversations with the youth over the phone on Sunday before she was found hanging in the night. Her roommate, a software engineer, who was trying to contact her, informed the caretaker as she did not pick up calls , As Reported By TOI.
According to the Newspaper,The caretaker, Ramu, said her roommate informed him around 10pm that she was not picking up calls.“I tried to check what was happening, but the room was locked from inside. All the five-six girls on the floor gathered outside and we even attempted to break open the door. However, we couldn’t do it,” he said.Ramu then peeped inside the room from one of the windows and spotted her hanging from the ceiling fan on a dupatta.
