HARRISON COUNTY (KLTV) Two Harrison County jailers have been arrested amid an investigation into allegations of abuse and oppression against an inmate.
Wednesday afternoon, the Harrison County Sheriff's Office said investigators, in conjunction with the Harrison County District Attorney's Office, are investigating a charge of an official oppression.
The inmate, Jalon Ward, 20, was booked into the jail on Aug. 2 after he was arrested at the scene of a burglary in process, the sheriff's office said.
"At the time of the arrest, it was apparent that he was under the influence of an intoxicant and was combative. During the book in procedures, Ward was continually combative and began spitting on the book in staff," the department said in a release.
